Went hunting for this because the Nazis have decided that white crosses in the desert are secret signs of a clinton-mexico pedophile sex ring. I was very disappointed that they hadn't fixated on the Corona Landmarks because that would have been awesome.
Somewhere up in here we've discussed the Corona Landmarks before but I can't find it. I'll bet it's some lame Atlas Obscura thing.

There's an entire subculture of people who - long before geocaching was a thing - would go out and photograph these old landmarks, and the ones from the Transcontinental Air Mail Routes, that are still around.
I've even been to the one in WA!
