This is probably the worst business model I've hear of in ages. Who in their right mind would buy stocks in a business model proven to not work. Uber already tried this and lost boat loads of money and its not like there is a lot of money in being an uber driver any way, taking an additional cut off the top is not really feasible when your driver is already making 3-5$ an hour.

Hey - if their VCs bought in at 2, and can sell at 6, they make money. That it's all downhill from there doesn't much matter.

David Rosenberg pointed out that something like 20% of brokers practicing today were practicing in 2008. That means the number of investors out in the field who remember the dotcom bust is vanishingly small.
