It's worth noting that the B-58 is the progenitor of all of Convair/General Dynamics hypersonic research moving forward, under the assorted names Super Hustler, FISH, or Kingfish. Convair lost to Lockheed (smaller radar signature) and we ended up with the A-12/SR-71 instead.
