Didn't know that story, doesn't surprise me at all. He interjected into every LASFS meeting about how the liberals were ruining America and that the sooner we invaded Mexico the better and shit like that.
He certainly added to the pantheon but as a person, he's the main reason I don't tell people I write science fiction. He was an unpleasant man.
