Do you start to get the picture, that it's going to be 100,000 advances, all very tiny, in this blossoming AI world -- in this case a quite wonderful and frightening (at the same instant) example of neuromorphic "forgetting", that is very similar to what animals and people do naturally, and that is very quickly remaking our very concept of people and computers. Soon computers will be just an extension of people (not individual personae, but people writ large), and with utterly mindboggling advances and superhuman powers that will make it literally impossible to resist -- the attraction will be far too strong. Again, assuming we can get past the military AI race by countries and terrorists alike, and the race for programmers hands (20,000,000 million of them) or AI thoughts in the cloud somewhere, doing the work that used to be done by nuclear specialists with years of preparation and training, to obliterate millions or billions of people, and set the world back to the stone age. It's incredibly scary, the incredible power of AI and AGI, and it's happening faster and faster, while most people are utterly oblivious.
