Personal reflection on how animal behaviourists should classify activity patterns throughout the animal kingdom.

mk: I remember reading somewhere that some birds living in urban areas were singing after dark where their rural counterparts did not. The hypothesis given was that the noises of the city during the day decreased the range of their song, therefore they extended their singing into the quieter after-light hours.

I wonder if environmental conditions could do the same for these lemurs. For example, perhaps on very hot days, they were more cathemeral when extra rest during the day translated into more activity at night?

I know that my day greatly affects my activity level on any given night.
