When I was doing freelance video work in LA in high school, in college in nyc, and even now back in LA, I loved it because I chose my hours. I said "work done in a month" and I could sip whiskey or scotch and blow lines or whatever. Work midnight-4am. Work 6am-9am. Work noon-5. Whatever. Now that i have a real job, it took me a full 2.5 months to really settle in. To switch my sleep cycle over to 11pm-6am. To not drink excessively before work. All that shit. It was hard. I have been far less creative and productive in the last couple months. It is Sunday and I woke up at 6am today without an alarm and it was weird. I dunno. I felt good though. So maybe I'll be uber creative from now on now that my sleep has reset.But...I think that a lot of my generation is similar to me. Night owls. Etc. Maybe just cuz I lived in NYC for so long iwth artists and freelance and cokeheads...but seriously I think I work better and I am more creative later in the day. Of course a creative environment is key to this but yes, if you asked me to design a corp website by myself between 9am-5pm or between 5pm-1am, I would be better in the latter. My juices just get flowing when the sun is gone.
