TO READ FOR NEXT WEEK:

No Truce With Kings -iffy audiobook link by Poul Anderson

&

Blood Music by Greg Bear

~

Right now I've only found an old audiobook reading on youtube for No Truce With Kings. This one's rather tricky to find any digital source for.

I've also plucked Blood Music from our list and put it onto the docket. Right now we've got the amazon link up.

DISCUSSION OF LAST WEEK'S READING:

The Dragon Masters by Jack Vance

&

Hothouse

Prompts for discussion

The Dragon Masters: This is yet another book that totally cheated to get into the short story category. Since we haven't established any bounds for the reading on this one, I'll leave this to open discussion.

Hothouse: The end of Chapter 6 makes a nice cutting-off point. The book later goes on to evoke some pretty biblical themes and explore the virtue (or lack thereof) of intelligence, and how humans have lost it as the world evolves. What is the value of intelligence in the evolutionary scale?

Been swamped with Q4 work, trying to find the time to read more that is not tech and work related. Will try to get in on this as both books are on my list of reads to get to. Thanks!
