To figure out a couplet, I ran to Wikipedia,

I blame my lack of experience on other kinds of media.

My meter is wrong, my rhymes straight and not slanted,

If my poetry teacher saw this all of his praise would be recanted.

I think here it would be wise to leave a note,

That he often pushed prose poetry down my throat.

Though he often said if a man has half a wit,

He can write a structured poem and stick with it.
