I was encouraged by someone on the IRC channel to contribute to this tag at some point, and so here we are. It turned out quite well.
We try to do something a little more exotic or labor intensive on Sunday nights, since our time is much more limited during the week.
Hard-won tip from mixing a half-dozen seasons of cooking shows:
Presentation matters. You eat with your eyes first and it sets your anchor for food expectations. This is literally dog food with parsley.
Wipe the bowl, spoon it carefully, and you can even like drizzle a little chili oil or something on it and it will not only look better, it'll actually taste better.
Now you know why fancy restaurants serve their soup in a bowl on a plate on a charger on a white placemat.
