I grew up watching Griffey play. He got so many people into baseball and, well, if you wore a backwards baseball cap in the 90s everyone who watched baseball knew you were a Griffey fan. Even the kids in Upstate NY were wearing his jersey and trying to emulate that swing and that swagger. His career numbers speak for itself, but everything he did for the game beyond being amazing at it is worth just as much.
