Well, that's interesting. I always thought that there must be different kinds of DNA in each cell in order to produce different functions. Quite an effective solution by nature, like it does so often.

I wonder: if there are about two meters of DNA in each cell, how many cells' worth of DNA would it take to build a string or a rope no worse on strength than the common materials we use for such things?
