H3H3 put out a video saying that they're being sued by someone who they criticized in a video. They took it to an attorney who helped them for free for the initial phases.

In the first video, they said that the case can take up to 2 years and cost up to $100K. After seeing the video, Phillip DeFranco started a gofundme to help with H3H3's defense costs.

In this video, H3H3 is saying that within 24 hours, the gofundme had over $115K from hundreds of people including some of the biggest youtubers like pewdiepie, jacksepticeye, markiplier, boogie2988, thefinebros. They note that the reason they're getting funds is because of the fair use controversy, not because it was them. H3H3 is saying that they will be putting the money into escrow for anyone who needs defense in fair use cases on youtube.
