This is an interesting showdown. The Fed seems determined to keep a rate hike in play, but the markets are incredulous.
I wonder if the hawkish tone is to create a psychological boost by leaving the rate untouched. More likely, I think they are actually going to do it, because the outcome is inevitable, and the economy isn't going to be in a better place for the market to deflate going forward.
If everywhere else has negative rates, and you have positive... You might just end up with capital inflows.
