This sounds like a god damn dystopian piece. The United Nations - an organization that supposedly should keep the world stable - latches to its collective ego to show that "we ain't done this" rather than admitting the screw-up and doing their best to mitigate the aftermath, as severe as it is. Instead, they apparently decided to pretend and play mindgames with people whose trust they could use, given the crisis in Haiti.
