Mean Penny O'Tool

Mean Penny O'Toole liked to pinch, scratch and lie

Johnny, her neighbor told the truth and hi-fived

Betty and Billy, the Twins down the way

Were planning a pool-party for their seventh birthday

"Who should we invite?" They asked their mommy

Mommy said, "you can invite Penny and Johnny?"

"Well, Johnny can come," the Twins both agreed

"But Penny cannot, 'cause she's just too mean."

Johnny and the Twins were all quite excited

Penny was cross that she wasn't invited

She got so angry that she kicked at a tree

Johnny stopped and asked, "gee, what's wrong Penny?"

Penny said, I'm mad because I am not going

To the pool-party that the Twins are throwing

Johnny said, "maybe they don't want you there

Because you're always punching and pulling their hair

If you changed your behaviors and were kind to the twins

I know that they'd like you and you could be friends."

Penny decided that she'd no longer lie

She would not hurt the Twins, making them cry

She would make them smile, giggle and laugh

She would make them think, "wow, that Penny's a gas."

Soon all the kids were quite fond of Penny

She played with the Twins and she played with Johnny

In fact, as the Twins next birthday arrived

Penny got an envelope with something inside

This was what she'd wanted all the while

And as the card opened she grew a big smile

It was a drawn invitation with balloons and a pool

It read, "you're invited, Sweet Penny O'Tool."
