My top book of 2015 is Black Earth by Timothy Snyder. Really changed my thinking about WWII, which isn't an easy thing to do. Gets to the heart of Nazi ideology and the mutual hate between Hitler and Stalin. Not an easy or pleasant read, as you can imagine, but a really fantastic piece of scholarship.
