To be honest, I'm not sure this article has it right. The statistics are awesome and I love having all this information to analyze. It describes the numbers the US needs to hit to reach European levels of gun deaths. But it only talks about the hard evidence.

Context is EXTREMELY important in these kinds of discussions, especially cultural. The truth is, there just isn't a violent, entitled gun culture in the European countries. Or most of the developed nations, actually. I would not be surprised if there was a significant uproar from the American population if the measures the author examines are actually put in place.

This problem can't be solved by throwing laws and bans at it. Educating the population to gun safety and what kind of responsibility actually comes with a gun is a much better start.
