"We are at an important turning point," Yoshinaga told Automotive News at the Tokyo Motor Show. "Many companies try to be bigger or sell more vehicles. If Subaru does the same thing, we will lose our characteristics."

I bought a new Subaru Outback a few months ago. It's the best car I've ever owned. We also have a Grand Cherokee. The Outback drives like a champ and the safety features are amazing. Distance control and lane control are automated. Conceivably, I could drive long distances without ever having my hands on the wheel or my foot on the pedals. -except it will beep at you and flash "hands on the wheel." -As it should. If the car in front of me abruptly stops or a deer walks in the road, the car will stop.

It's an amazing vehicle. A glimpse of the future.
