The collection of books was kept by Caray, who supposedly recorded, for tax purposes, his bar stops in the early 1970s. We're talking Hall of Fame numbers here — if not Cooperstown, then for Alcoholics Anonymous.

    Handwritten notes list 1,362 bar stops in 1971 and 1,242 in 1972, after which Caray stopped keeping detailed notes because he decided against using his off-hours drinking as a tax write-off, Dutchie Caray said.
