Ideally, social media sites delete all account information when people decide they're done. I know you can't control scrapers, so if you put something online, best to expect it to be there forever.

But I think it's valid for Twitter to require delete-ability for users of its API. Twitter shouldn't be required to make it easy for people to disregard their values -- in this case, user privacy and the right to be forgotten.
