Kindergartners who share, cooperate and are helpful are more likely to have a college degree and a job 20 years later than children who lack those social skills, according to a new study.

Things in life come much more easily to those with good social skills. People like them better and as such, they have less friction in everyday interactions. This is vitally important stuff.

I have friends whose children are polite but they're terrified of people outside of their family. They're very sheltered. I think my friends are doing their children a disservice.
