riemannman: I know an artist whose next big piece will be comparing future wars with the Cold War. He told me that many scholars believe that future wars will be fought over water. I find this so fascinating. He wants to compare the extremely high tech and explosive war of the Arms Race with the future wars which will be about a polar opposite - water. This piece on sustainability reminds me of talks I've had with him. Sometimes thinking about the future is uplifting; sometimes it's scary.
