I suspect that by now I'm behind the curve w/r/t feminist interest in sports, but I feel like sports have been a bit of neglected field, seen as a sort of silly non-utilitarian, obviously masculine thing or stricly in terms of competitive success and failure (think of something akin to both exercise science and sports medicine). It's big part of media culture, however.
