I'd be willing to wager that not that many people really care about the level of transparency that Bitcoin brings to the table. Why would I care about what other people are buying, or how much money they have?

That would work well, if more places actually used Bitcoin.

Pretty much every service already converts money from one currency to another, and are pretty efficient and reliable.

Recall a recent occasion you wished to send a friend a few dollars.

Almost never.

Bank fees and wait times put a damper on what appears to be a simple transaction.

I've sent money to other people through my bank before, it was free and instant (granted, it was through the same bank). Also, I did it online, and I can do it at any time.

Shared Accounts & Trust Building

This tool comes in handy when building trust with new social networks, associates and partners.

Or just don't share an account with people you don't trust?

Really, Bitcoin is a pretty cool idea, but everyone's already ingrained into the current system. Why should someone take the time out of their day to take all of their money out of banks and put it into some system that they would get a very small benefit from? Also, why should they convert their money into a currency that they can only use in a few places? Bitcoin isn't going to replace the dollar, it will forever stay a "geek" currency.
