Having just finished Animal Farm, this was by far my favourite part of the book and I just wanted to share it. Is the first time that the preface of a book will be what I take away most from it.

It is a wonderful exhortation of the free press and the need to always challenge the assumptions behind whatever political rhetoric is around. "The enemy is the gramophone mind, whether or not one agrees with the record that is being played at the moment." It raises the question of what things we think sacrosanct today will be demonised tomorrow.

Grendel:

Excellent read, thanks for sharing it.
