The important thing about ruts, and what gets people down within them, is that you know you’re better than this. You know what you’re capable of doing well, and it eats at you that you’re in a stretch where you’re not doing them well.

The piece is aimed at performing artists, but can be applied to anyone.

Nice article. I specifically thought the intro was funny and relatable. I also found the first four points useful, and I can see my self following these tips, as well as more consciously doing the ones I already sorta did before.

However, I was not a fan of the final three points. I know you led with the qualifier that they were more about general life improvement, but the tangent still felt jarring and didn't really fit the flow of the article to me. It seemed to detract from the topic a bit too much, considering it took up about 40% of the article itself. My advice would be consolidate the part into one "physical wellness" bullet point, or even remove it and make it into it's own separate piece. That would allow you to go into more specific details on fitness routines you recommend, the benefits of a proper diet on brainpower, as well as the benefits sleep does to creativity. You could also share personal anecdotes on what you do to maintain physical wellness.

That being said, I do enjoy your writing style, and I'm now currently trapped reading through your archives. The world of improv is something I am not too familiar with, and your posts are very informative.

Thanks for sharing!
