    In the wake of the Snowden disclosures, the prevailing view is that the government is sweeping up all of our communications. That is not true.

This guy wants people to think that the government isn't monitoring everyone's digital activity but wants to make it easier for the government to access private communication networks. I don't know how he didn't catch this misleading language before he gave this speech.

In all honesty, though, he did say at least one thing that's worth reflecting on:

    Perhaps it’s time to suggest that the post-Snowden pendulum has swung too far in one direction—in a direction of fear and mistrust. It is time to have open and honest debates about liberty and security.

I'm willing to discuss this issue and consider it from a rational perspective.
