There's a certain rush to these guys' blues rock drive. They're gnarlier than the Black Keys, more focused than the White Stripes, and a whole lot angrier than the both of 'em. The lyrics are generic and awful, but the screams are fucking poetic.

Reignwolf is my favorite artist in this unkown style, here he is.

There are hardly any views for any of these bands, in the genre of the two I've linked so far, and this upsets me–but also makes me feel cool in a plottingraccoon.png sort of way.

For those of ye who prefer music lighter on the ears, this is also an example of the vibe I'm looking for–

Hit me up! I need more! Also, can someone ID this genre? It's more specific than blues-rock. Also, all of the bands along these lines are very new; most, two of the three I've posted here, have not dropped a full-length record yet.

Other details: Through Pandora, I'll get similar artists like Patrick Sweaney (The Keys' drummer) who dropped a nice album before the Keys were a thing. The Doorbells are also an amazing band of this style but I can't link it because they're so unnkown that they have no YouTube videos or bandcamp presence and only exist on Pandora?!?!

Anyway, if you haven't heard these dudes and they're your vibe, enjoy! If not, go away, I'm jammin here!

(Edit: Don't forget the Dirty Streets!) This is a much more motown, bluegrass rock roots soul whatever-type band. Not necessarily what I"m looking for.

edit2: None of these, partially from being so new, are legendary amazing bands.. yet. They're just examples of the vibe I can scrounge up atm.

iammyownrushmore:

Okay yeah wow, you hadn't jammed Fugazi so please do cause they rule. I'm so over rock music, but Fugazi forever.

I'll make some projections, I really hate the bluesy thing, but with Fugazi I think I can reach out a lil olive branch.

Saw this band with Daughters (Daughters yo!) right after high school. They were crazy loud and all rockin' live. Can't say much about them since then, tho. Daughters rules, I'm gonna listen to Canada Songs for the first time in like 4 years.

White Denim is sick as all get-out

The Refused were definitely a time-and-place kinda band, right around At The Drive In era when post-punk still meant something. Still sick tho.

Maybe you'll dig Colour Revolt?

Maybe?

Now I'm just off on a tangent.

What am I doing.

In which I utterly refuse to be caged in by the bounds and limits of the reasonable discussion previous to my post in this thread.

Hey so, I used to be the biggest Led Zeppelin acolyte alive, but regardless of the fact that I still know every word to almost every song and will sing them as soon as the opening strains are heard, they really, seriously ripped off so many people without paying credit. Big Star is fucking rad though, and you will find just as many people that cite them as the reason they make music. Plus they didn't ripoff riffs from peers and old blues records and pass it off as original material.
