Definitely a sensationalist headline as it really isn't "virtually impossible" to block but this is an interesting new tracking method nonetheless.
Do these people read other tech articles?
Besides Privacy Badger from the EFF, you can still use a VPN, provided you can afford $40/year. I use Private Internet Access, they've even funded at least one privacy awareness campaign.
Edit: VPN may not entirely circumvent this, actually...
