[Allan W.] Pollack started his series with choosing 28 songs more or less arbitrarily from the songbook of the Beatles. These articles are especially interesting, because Pollack spices his analyses with some lucid explanations of his musicological insights and knowledge. If you are unknown in musicological territory, the best you can do is to read these pieces in numerical order.The musicological parts were too much for me, but his general notes are really interesting and accessible.

Very much a byproduct of skiffle but underneath there is that electricity inherent to rock and roll.I look forward to reading more.
