TechDirt does a fantastic job of dissecting the RIAA's recent opinion piece in the NY Times.

These dinosaur gatekeepers are so paralyzed and clueless, they are attempting to prop up their business models by morphing the law into a sledgehammer used to smash any entity that even smells like a threat.

Normally the market would just watch them die, and it just sucks that the are making an end run around that by purchasing favorable legislation.

And once again, the issue isn't corrupt politicians, it is politicians listening to their constituents, which is to say, the issue is campaign finance reform. Not big government. Not term limits. Not out of touch representatives.

Campaign finance reform.

It really is the only issue there is.
