Have any of you ever felt the results of being stared down by a person that could easily hurt you? It is an anxiety response to the predator/prey nature of our existence.

Surveillance recreates that generalized anxiety response among entire populations. Nation/states use that to squelch sedition before the fact just as much as the collection of the actions and words of those surveilled is later used to railroad any dissent.
