The cable and broadcast industry have long tried to argue the sheer volume of channels creates "value" for the consumer, but with sometimes bi-annual rate hikes for oodles of unwatched content, most consumers would be hard pressed to agree.
The cable and broadcast industry is getting absolutely demolished by the internet. Never have I seen such a one-sided, losing battle. Never have I realized how acutely aware I am that something is becoming obsolete.
My TV hasn't had its cable turned on in years, and that is not an exaggeration. Is permanently found on the HDMI2 slot, for the PS3, the Netflix, whatever else.
They need to figure out something fast, because that is a sinking ship that I would not want to be on.
