And this, of course, will be used as ammo by creationists, though it's basically shooting blanks.

There's a twisted subset of nutters in society who combine an insufficient understanding of biology with their own hatreds - compare VDARE and the human "biodiversity" movement (honestly they don't have a terribly good understanding of how biopsychological and societal factors actually interplay), and the creationists themselves.

White supremacists who use a poor understanding of biology and evolution to attempt to support ideas which don't actually flow from it and are contradicted by existing evidence that is completely compatible with evolution are a sort of mirror image of the creationists, who simultaneously use their poor understanding of biology and evolution to deny that it happens. The unifying factor here is that they suck at biology and suck at nuanced thought and suck at dealing with biological science being very much a process in which we know a great deal of things but have much to uncover about their little nuances besides having a great deal of other things that we don't know.

Seriously, I think they're just not smart enough to wrap their heads around it. How's that for human biodiversity - the cognitive haves, and the cognitive have-nots. It's like comparing Vivaldi to Happy Birthday.
