Lately I've been putting over 20 hours per week into other projects beyond my full-time job. Needless to say, my days off are not really the same kind of days off that I had as a child or even in college. Two freelance deadlines are approaching next week and I'm feeling a little overwhelmed.

When this comprehensive hard-pressedness has happened in the past, I've deleted my Facebook account. Actually, I went an entire year without one - no twitter or social media either - and found myself spending more time with myself or on the general link-bait that is reddit. I've never been a very active FB user as I don't have any niche business or ideology to promote there. With these deadlines coming up, I've taken the same step and deleted it, and really it felt like a weight off my shoulders. That the steps I have to take in order to balance work and more work will be easier without distraction.

What do you do?

Your full-time job is ultimately what feeds your face. If you're pressed for time, I'd consider putting one of these projects on hold. You can always pick them up later.
