thenewgreen: Poems are magic because they are spells designed to create a particular experience for a reader/listener. The writer crafts the poem with intention, but can only guess at what that experience will be: the consumer is not usually known to the writer. Magic is slippery stuff and relies heavily on the human touch to succeed, if at all.
