Growing up, I was forced to take piano lessons. I've grown up to be a musical person. However, I don't enjoy playing the piano. I was raised in an environment where I was exposed to all sorts of music and instruments were always laying around the house that I could pick up and tinker with. But when it came to the piano, my parents would make me practice. I don't think that's the way it should be done. While I do believe children should be involved in the arts, it should never be forced upon them but rather readily available.
