> 5. Stricter p-value criteria. It is far too easy to massage p-values to get less than 0.05. Also, make meta-analyses look for “p-hacking” by examining the distribution of p-values in the included studies.

I agree with the rest, but the commandment 10. does not seem right. You can (5) require high p-values as high as you want. But if you find even the tiniest of effects that does not go away, that is important. In fact, I would say "It’s easy to get small effect sizes in anything" is a misunderstanding (unless the author is claiming the effect due to chance, in which case, the required p-value should be higher, not the effect size).

That page is not completely correct. It should be " I have to _hand in_ my essay ". Not _hand out_. To "hand out" is to distribute for free, while to "hand in" is to submit.

I can see why they might have made the mistake, because professors routinely say "please hand in your essays by Monday", and "please hand out these flyers for me". It seems obvious that students should hand out their essays then. However, hand in is just a synonym for submit. The "in" in that sentence is not independent.

While I was a school boy, I idolized charge of the light brigade. I was a new student at a military school, life was tough, and I remembered this poem when ever I felt I couldn't take it any more.

Especially the stanzas

Cannon to right of them, Cannon to left of them, Cannon in front of them Volley'd and thunder'd

Storm'd at with shot and shell, Boldly they rode and well, Into the jaws of Death, Into the mouth of hell Rode the six hundred.

were my favorites.

In my twenties, I read about the original charge that motivated the poem, and the stupidity of that assault, and I could no longer identify with the poem any more.

Now, though, I see that the stupidity of the officers and the pointlessness of the assault in no way detracts from the courage and bravery of the soldiers, for war itself is stupid in most senses.
