Look into pure/ethyl alcohol extraction or pheonix tears/rso. Your first problem is 250 degrees is over the burning temp of thc/cannabinoids. 180-220MAX for concentrates.

You can also look into rosin pressing. All of these methods should get you closer to where youre looking to be.

The big issue with this is price difference. I hate guitar center, but there is nowhere else I can get a $1700 pair of monitors for ~$500 due to working discounts and shit because guitar center definitely does not have their shit together. Plus I would feel bad working a ma and pop business like that, lol.

randomuser  ·  3119 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: I asked.

Not that one haha, the one her mother got this morning though...

One thing I'm gonna work on is a list of things I think he should know about - financial, personal, health, etc., so that three aren't any secrets. Because, there should NEVER be secrets. I just suck at identifying information that could potentially blow up in my face. IE: The money stuff and even the drug stuff - I wasn't trying to hide it from him. It was blantaly on my phone and he grabbed it to take a picture and I didn't think twice about it.

This idea is a good one. Try to remember that whether or not dishonesty is intentional, it hurts just the same. And I think you mentioned another time recently you were a little dishonest, this makes it harder the second time to believe what you say in the heat of the moment. Usually, from my experience, the guy will come around when he calms down.

Didn't believe a thing I said, and that hurt because I finally got the balls to be honest about the struggle given the information he had. If I was really buy drugs or doing sneaky shit for real - it would've been better hidden.

Dishonesty is never better, and hiding shit sucks. If you are with someone you feel you cannot be honest with, maybe you should reevaluate where you're at. Being honest is much easier and feels much better than not.

What feels "better" about hiding it in your case is that you have a reason to hide these things...he doesn't like them. And being completely open and honest with your partner about things they don't like, agree with, or understand can be incredibly hard. You start to get in the mind state that they'll never accept all of you, and then the longer you put it off, the harder it becomes to be honest about it.

What I think you're starting to realize is that you can't just pick random times to blurt out the things you don't usually mention without getting some kind of backlashy response. The thing is, he will be finding these things out for the first time, whereas you've known you your whole life. You're with you, in your head 24/7. If you don't tell people things the first time they come up for you, you have to find a perfect future moment to bring up the fact that somehow the thing you've been hiding fits into...which is kind of terrible, but is also kind of an art.

Because, there should NEVER be secrets.

This is the best thing you'll ever put into practice in a relationship. It is insanely relieving.

I just suck at identifying information that could potentially blow up in my face.

This is a problem everyone has, so don't get to down on it. Sometimes(dramatically understated), in a relationship, you have to actually put yourself in the perspective of:

Would this thing bother me if the shoes were swapped? And knowing your partner well enough to at least make an effort to actively do the things you think/know your partner would want even though you may have to go a tiny bit(also hugely understated at times) out of your own comfort zone.

Remember, it's a partnership. That does not mean it's 50/50 all the time. Sometimes, especially after things like blown up dishonesty happens, you have to pull 80%, really bad shit can happen and sometimes you will have to be the 100% rock(at these times in my life I have to remember how huge of a stubborn ass I can be and I definitely need my rock sometimes because I am not a fully functional person without the other half of my heart that is my partner and the love of my life). But that's your personal choice, and it's an amazing experience to have someone you truly want to share 100% of yourself and your life with, for better or worse :P.

You sound like your head is in the right place though, just keep pushing forwards and the end result will be totally worth the means by which you got there.

It would make it a lot more accurate as far as comments that everyone thought were awesome, also a lot easier to find great comments when picking out posts for the newsletter.

randomuser  ·  3195 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: The Heroin Heroine of Reddit

Now she averages 10 packs of clean syringes and two packs of naloxone per week. Though she won’t disclose how she obtains the drug, Tracey says she has sent over 280 vials, 20 of which were multi-use receptacles containing ten doses apiece.

This is kind of terrible. Providing someone with clean needles is one thing, but giving people a drug that they feel safe oding on heroine, because it's reversible when someone injects you with it after you have...

This shouldn't be a positive article. It's about someone who was sent needles and this drug, who felt comfortable enough about his heroin use to tell his brother that if he finds him slumped up and blue, to inject him with this vial he got from this chick in reddit because it will reverse the od...

That's more terrible than uplifting...

randomuser  ·  3196 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Europe to America: Your love of air-conditioning is stupid

Of course, Northern Europe is still colder than most regions within the United States and some countries, such as Italy or Spain, have recently seen an increase in air-conditioning. "The U.S. is somewhat unusual in being a wealthy nation much of whose population lives in very warm, humid regions," Cox told The Washington Post in an e-mail. However, the differences in average temperatures are unlikely to be the only reason for Europeans' reluctance to buy cooling systems. It's also about cultural differences.

This article is ridiculous. You can't say an entire country is "daft" because people there like to be comfortable and have the freedom to choose to be it with the aid of AC in hot weather, especially when you're in a generally cooler natural climate.

And wtf is this:

Consequently, while indoors, Europeans wear sweaters in winter, while American wear sweaters in summer," Sivak told The Washington Post.

It keeps getting better.

Studies clearly show that cooling improves work efficiency during summers as well as sleep patterns, and even reduces mortality. So why would Europeans simply relinquish such advantages?

I posted this here the other day, happened right by where I grew up. It's crazy no one found him for so long.

randomuser  ·  3241 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Daft Punk - Giorgio By Moroder

I don't use a whole lot of plugins on my mastering chain, but the oxford limiter finds it's way on a lot of tracks. My analog chain goes: Manley vari-mu > Manley massive passive > various limiters(I use a few) > pt > Massey l2007 or oxford limiter. The sonic stuff really is amazing for digital.

I use Abletons stock eq and compressor/glue composition most of the time, but I'll occasionally go for softubes tube tech or fet emulation compressors.

I also use a bad harmonic enhancer on kick drums a lot, it's called bv4 by a company that you can get their whole set for like $30....crysonic?

I do a lot of electronic/rock stuff, I'm way into synths and play guitar as well.

You have a soundcloud/website?

randomuser  ·  3242 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Daft Punk - Giorgio By Moroder

The track was ok just like this entire album. I think that what makes this track awesome is that Giovanni "Georgio" Moroder is telling his story as well as the story if the moog model d I think.

I really liked this album and the musicians they got to work on it. But after all the hype I was disappointed by how repetitive it was for most of the tracks, and I figured with people like Giorgio Moroder, Todd Edwards, Nile Rodgers, and Pharrell, that the song form/musicianship would've much more intricate and developed than it was. Instead, they just made a bunch of super catchy 8 bar loops, "get lucky" being the bigges offender as the entire song is just 4 bars repeated over and over on the instruments, and pharells lyrics aren't that much more in depth.

It's a great album for a new/young band, but for how seasoned and we'll known most of the musicians on the album are, it was kind of disappointing IMO.

I feel like anyone is caught selling drugs and/or with money in the quantities that this guys was attributed to drugs would go to jail for this long. They probably dropped the murder charge because they already had him for life on a plethora of other charges and don't feel this one was worth pressing, maybe due to the fact that both parties hit man/hit were undercovers. A hazard of doing business like this is possible jail time, if he actually tried to have someone killed he more than deserves what he got. He's like a mafia don that thinks by having other people do his shit work, he stays clean. Thanks to laws like conspiracy and intent though, this isn't the case.

randomuser  ·  3254 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Study: Congress literally doesn’t care what you think

This article sounds about right as far as what you can see/watch/find out about the way economic standing works in the US. I find it mostly just sad that even with all this information put out everyday via social media and other odd source media that shows the abuse of money and/in power, and how much control money has in government here, yet nothing is/(can be?) done about it.

Like on one hand, people are lazy and stupid. This leads to the thought that:

a. People don't give(enough of) a shit what happens to them via government because they don't notice it affecting them to do anything about it.

b. People don't give(enough of) a shit where their tax dollars go to do anything about it(whether this is because they feel taxes cannot be avoided, or just really don't care about what their tax money is spent on).

c. I am also sure that there are those that don't even realize the money out of their paycheck goes to things they can vote on.

On the other hand, it also could be that we've gotten to the point that there really is nothing anyone outside of the .2% funding government corruption that has enough power/control to even try to do something about this. (And the likeliness of that happening when the same .2% receiving trillions of dollars from taxpayer money is less than nonexistent)

From my perspective, it's teamwork of stupidity and lost control, but it is a fairly accurate portrayal of how things work in the world.

MONEY=POWER

randomuser  ·  3378 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Moog Music Recreates a Trio of Its Legendary Modular Synths

I love the Moog sound, but if i was paying those kind of prices I would probably go for original pieces not remakes. I guess they're relying on the limited number being made to incite some kind of insane buying frenzy in people with too much money to spend on a modular synth. While they sound great and can make incredibly unique sounds, there is no recall, they take forever to patch and syncing it with anything is kind of a bitch. Also I kind of wonder if these will sound as different from the originals as the new minimoogs from the 1970s versions.

On a side note, they need to step it up and make a polyphonic synth.
