Gongfu_cha this was some good stuff dude. also thenewgreen could you point my buddy here in the direction of the primer and everything you showed me when I first joined?
Hubsquid? :D Haha that's great!
Thanks insomniasexx! TERRIBLE SELFIES!
I'm thinking about sticking the white one on my computer. Don't know where yet.
Yeah I enjoy them all equally. I never do this with a book if it's my first time reading it though. Yeah I look at it like all the books I own are in their own contained universe, and moving from say ADWD to Ender's Game is like going from... Our dark ages to our future... Make sense? Sounds crazy to type it for all to see like this though.
A quote by a friend of mine (which I posted on the quotes thread) might be relevant here too - My spin? So what? Spiderwoman is a PAWG ("phat ass white girl")? It's not like she's oppressing anybody, except maybe the baddies... It's interesting that we live in a time where everything sexual towards women is offensive except 50 Shades of Grey which is celebrated as if it's god damn Shakespeare. A book where a man is abusive towards a woman and she develops into his slave. Or Titanic which had nudity for no reason.
Romantically (or nonsexually even) my ex and I were great, but we just didn't have sexual chemistry. I guess she ended up finding it with a one night stand turned serious thing, because she broke up with me and has been dating that guy ever since (about 2 years), from what little she's tried throwing in my face (during the end of '12), it seems like they get on great. Grats to them, I wish them nothing but the best. And that's another point I feel: just because you love someone doesn't mean they're a great sexual partner for you.
Indeed this is gold (Imgur is just fine), I watched this rise out of usersub, what's wrong with Imgur?
Wow I thought had been +50 years, not 45. On a semi related note I'm disappointed that this was just a camera "trick" it seems like if it wasn't, then it could be extra motivation to get boots on the ground there. Anyway turns out it was nothing more than the equipment/light/shadow. I couldn't think of anything better to say here. It was 45 years ago that Neil Armstrong took the small step onto the surface of the moon that changed the course of history.
Oh it's taken me a whole chapter to realize Tidder = Reddit. 8bit you funny.
Another thought - it's kind of conversation derailing to focus on that (grammar). It doesn't really add anything to the conversation/s. It just seems like a passive aggressive form of trolling or dismissing any points that the person was trying to make. However, instead of trying to talk myself out of this site, I'm staying. Just tossing my two cents around this thread.
They told the mom the kid had lost a tooth, and by tooth they meant they blew a hole in his fucking chest. This and something I read about a dog getting senselessly killed. Goddamn, this just makes me sick. I bet you that motherfucker (the one who threw the FB) is going to get rewarded. I hope this family sues the shit out of that department and takes the commanding officer's job and the offending officer's balls on a silver platter. Side note: I give up on taking the justice system seriously, time to take my American rights to buy a gun and look into the legality of citizen arrests. So that I can just bust someone if they're legitimately trying to do me harm. I think I'm going to throw up now.
EDIT: Fixed a word
Right off the bat, I think it would be amazing to see Bobba Fett finally get his own film - after getting (I think) his own video game 10+ years ago. I think I'm going to be in the shit when I say this but I actually enjoyed Star Wars III, it seems like everyone hates the second trilogy. With good reason I might add, well mostly good reason. The first one (Phantom Menace) was just drawn out (I understand that they have to introduce the future Darth Vader when he looks like he should be in the fifth or sixth grade). The second one was just him now older, running around being angsty at everything, the only redeeming moment of that movie was when he found his parent/s (mom?) killed by the Sand People, and he goes berserk and murders them all out of anger. The third one, it felt fast paced and just tied into 4, 5, and 6 enough to be kind of a middle ground. At that point in the series you could see where everything would lead into the original trilogy because it was only 20-something years prior. Sorry if this came out a little like gibberish and rambling.
You're fairly forgiving, at heart; you agreed with the robin more than the blackbird, and you don't like blaming people for their decisions. You value pleasure, but not at the cost of everything else - there are clear limits to how far you'll take the pursuit of enjoyment. If you're looking to investigate some philosophers you agree with, there are a few places you can look. You could try David Hume, who agrees with you on the nature of desire. You and Aristotle feel the same way about weak will. You're on the same page as John Rawls about collective responsibility. And Max Weber feels similarly to you with regard to whether it's possible to be too rational. And if you want to challenge your opinions and seek out people you instinctively disagree with, there are plenty of them as well. You think very differently to Aristotle and Epicurus about whether desires can be rational. You disagree with Socrates and Thomas Hobbes about weak will.
Well that was a pretty interesting thought experiment or "game". I feel like it was pretty spot on about my philosophy, and I think I might go ahead and look into Socrates, Aristotle and Epicurus. Time to get a library card or dig through the internet for their work/s. You've explored the castle. You've made your choices. And here's what we know about you:
walkingbush that is the best rewording of "When shit hits the fan" I've ever seen. I think I'm going to use that when I need a clever way to say "When shit hits the fan" :D
Same here.
Savitar (From Styxx by Sherrilyn Kenyon)The gods make kings, fools, and pawns of us all... In equal turn, not equal length.
Not exactly an exile, but I had been there (Reddit) off and on for about three years and I noticed (as someone else ITT has said) that there was a low amount of interaction between people there. The only moderately successful post I made was This and it's an NSFW thread from /r/askreddit, but that's the only time I have ever seen any kind of moderate response to anything. I think I might repost that question here and see what it generates response wise... Anyway that's my piece on the matter, I'll be enjoying my time here. * EDIT: I'm happy to see Markdown works... (The only thing I'm good at using)
