I came here from that thread too.
Damn. This makes me feel bad about my 17 books for the year. Good job. I'm currently reading The Brain That Changes Itself by Norman Doidge. It's about how even into adulthood the human brain isn't in a permanent state and can constantly change.
I looked through #australia and found it, and I'm glad you remembered me. I don't spend much time on here unfortunately.
Don't worry, I'm nowhere near the fires so I'm safe. You know, I'm surprised you remembered me. I haven't been here in weeks. Thanks for checking up on us though.
Uhhh... can we get collapsing comments too?
Is theholywombat like /u/awildsketchappeared?
Definitely that.
That's what I've heard.
Well I'm liking this place so far. Maybe I'll be staying around. 😃
Slower, as in posted content. There is a big difference between 8000 and 70million users.
I just don't think it's for me. It's why I love Minecraft so much, sure there can be a lot of action where I could be working in a team but other times I could just be standing there talking in chat. I haven't been on there in ages, but there was this server I went to practice my German and most of my time was spent just talking in chat or me listening to them speak in Teamspeak. I just don't see that happening in Dota 2...
Hey, I have 2 games running right now, I must be twice as dirty.
And it's so much calmer here.
You can never stop. You have to get more cookies, the Grandmas must be appeased!
There's no shame in enjoying a fun simple game.
Now I'm still a new member, but I see nothing wrong with a way to donate some money if someone likes the site. As long as it's not obnoxious it should be fine.
What kind of features?
I think a lot of people joined Hubski today because of that thread. I know I did.
I actually have two games open right now, one where I didn't reset and one where I did reset that also had the new beta. The non reset one has 1 chip and would get about 72 more chips if I reset now, and the reset one has 24 chips and would get another 12 I think. 6.6 billion CPS on the non reset one... I probably should stop playing the game but it's too fun for some reason.
Adding onto what Zizz said, from what I've read (5 minutes ago) Zen focuses your experience more on browsing and makes it much more relaxed. It does this by removing all the extra details like numbers of followers.
Althoug I'm really entrenched in reddit (subscribed to 118 subreddits), Hubski is nicer. It's definitely slower, and it feels a lot fresher, I'll just have to wait and see how my experience here turns out.
I'm from Adelaide, discovered Hubski about 30 minutes ago.
Ahhh, Dwarf Fortress... I'm in the middle for DF, every now and then I try it again for a few days, get tutorials open and watch videos, but then I get bored getting everything perfect and planning too much.
It's scary how much time I've spent playing this game, I've had the game open for 270 hours and have 6.6 billion CPS at the moment
Eh, I tried Dota 2 and HoN, but I just can't get into it. It's really stressful and from what I've heard the community is very toxic anyway.
No. At first yes, but then you start buying things that generate cookies, from cursors to antimatter condensers. You can get upgrades to make these buildings better and to do other stuff. There are also achievements, for things such as cookies baked, buildings owned, etc. Then there's the Grandmapocalypse... It's scary how much time I've had it open.
