Most of the time it's better to ask your question than to ask to ask. What are you looking for?

That IBM model is the one LGR did a video on I think.

Yes, yes it is:

I had a feeling he might be the one you were referring to. I definitely wouldn't consider him an influencer though. More of a pair of disembodied hands that rarely makes videos on YouTube where he putzes about the shop.

I only know what you're talking about because of This Old Tony.

Neat, I didn't know there were new ones, I still have my old one from a long while ago.

Thank you. This a welcome update.

Maddox has a face and a voice? My view on this man has diminished greatly.

aperson  ·  4053 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Who else here is legitimately excited about Google Glass?

Google does not and can't have complete video to access one's life via glass. Glass can only record when a user tells it to record. You may not be referring to it potentially always recording video, but I read articles where people are fear-mongering such things enough to make me angry. There's lots of misinformation being spread regarding privacy with glass out there.

I don't buy into your view at all. I see it as a device to help me with day to day activities and to bring up information.

aperson  ·  4057 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Who else here is legitimately excited about Google Glass?

I did not apply to be an explorer. I'm waiting for the public release (that's quite a bit cheaper).

Aside from what has been demoed, the api looks super easy to work with. It looks mostly to be just pushing json to google. I can create notifications that get pushed out of the way in my vision.

I guess my main excitement is that it's a friggin screen in your face at all times.

I'm sorry that you feel that way. What you feel is acceptable and what the site as a whole feel acceptable can be two very different things. From me personally, I was going through a hard time and I wanted to talk about it. I don't have a lot of good friends that I can talk to, so I turned to the internet. I don't mean to intrude on your feed, but as others have said, you're free to ignore me and/or the tags I used for this post. I do agree that some people 'karmawhore' their dead relatives or pets, but I was genuinely wanting to talk and share experiences. I'm not ashamed to admit that I was bawling my eyes out the night I made this post. I just wanted to talk and maybe share memories. It really helped me to talk to a few people online, and I don't see why that should be restricted because of one user.

I listened to it. I like it a bit. I think I liked the Eraser more, but I can't expect the world.

Thank you. They definitely grow on you.

Thank you. I hope it was for him. Apparently the vet didn't give him enough sedative outright and they had to give him more. I hope that wasn't an issue for him. I hope he glided peacefully into nothingness (or whatever it may be that's out there).

Thanks again, I appreciate it. I'm just glad that I was there for him until the very end. I would never want him to be alone.

Thank you. I didn't think I'd be such a mess over this, but apparently I am.

I didn't think you came across as rude at all. Anyways, yeah dwelling on one's perceived problems do make said problems worse. I've learned to control that aspect pretty well, I think.

Haha @ whoever added the #grep tag. Feel better!

aperson  ·  4094 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: What Are You Most Self-Conscious About?

I am aware, thanks.

aperson  ·  4095 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: What Are You Most Self-Conscious About?

I get concerned at work on whether or not my anxiety shows. I've had a couple panic attacks at work, and I try my best to hide them, but I can't but wonder if anyone wonders if I'm acting differently. I try my best to control them (which is something I've learned to get good at), but I feel like I still have some visible signs.

I wouldn't say it's better or worse. My anticipation has been building throughout the series (just wanting to see where everything goes), but I can say it's better or worse.

I've watched it all. Just waiting on new episodes at this point.

I've been working a bit with the imgur api and I am not a fan. All I'm doing is getting info from images and some things are just silly about it all.

aperson  ·  4102 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Runners of Hubski do you run on heel or toes? Cause You should change

Tangently related: When I was in my teenage years, I was a very avid skateboarder. After the first few years, my right foot (the one that I pushed with) would occasionally feel like there was a rip across the bottom of my foot. I primarily pushed with my toes, but I s tarted pushing by rolling my foot from heel to toe. When that 'rip' happened, I could barely push/walk and would have to push switch or else the pain was too much.

While I've never sought to find work through IRC, I do find it to be the most enjoyable form of communication. There's so many small communities that are out there that you can join and be a part of. For the most part, it doesn't matter who you are. You're just judged on how you act and present yourself.
