Growing up wrong was a funny thing. My dad was a lawyer, which meant he knew how to argue like no other. I endured this for several years, because he was also emotionally unavailable. (I'm not getting on a couch here or anything, psychoanalysts o.o) Anyway, one day he told me that pizza was invented in the United States. I called bullshit (without the language) and I got the encyclopedia and proved him WRONG. BLAM. Of course I was sent to my room immediately because it pissed him off. I was 14 or so at the time I think. And I had something to prove, hormones and crazy experiences adding up constantly. But, now. Years later, and as an adult. With kids XD I say yeah. Thanks dad. You did what you knew how to do. You loved me when it all boiled down. I remember the time he saved me from being pulled out into the wild blue yonder of the ocean. ....an undertow struck and my friend and I were goners. But, he saved the day....and then bitched us out lol BTW. He was my best-man at the wedding on the 18th of June this year.
Taking care of my mother for 8 years as she slowly declined. Lymphoma started it and the radiation therapy caused a compression fracture in her L2 vertebrae. Then she had that repaired surgically. And learned to walk again. It was so beautiful to see her standing once more and all the hope I had for a real recovery was lost when she began Chemo...she had a reaction (most likely because her body was still healing from the surgery on her spine.) but, she went into septic shock and had to be taken by ambulance to the ER. I thought it had been tough, but seeing my best friend and mother lying flat on a stretcher hit me like a brick to the face. She went to the Emergency ICU and was imtubated...I was wrong. Seeing that was a truck load of bricks to the face. Then, she flat lined and my world died for 30 minutes before I found out they recussitated her. She came back with a host of lung problems that shouldn't have hit her for at least 15 more years and definitely not that hard. I helped her, waited on her, got fed up with her, fought with her, made up, and did it all again. From my early twenties on. Then, after all the pain she decided it was time to let go. Hospice came and days later an angel left this world...I'm welling up. It still hurts 2 years later. The whole experience

I'm a lowly singer songwriter in the middle of nowhere northeast GA. Lol Athens is fairly close and typically provides a good outlet via an open mic when I'm able. I do have a few other friends that play, but everyone seems to be in a similar situation. Which is, we all play guitar (rhythm usually) Collaborations happen occasionally though. But it doesn't expand due to the lack of variety. Either way, I love playing and hanging out with others that do. Hmm. I suppose I should share a sample...I don't like to typically, because I'm my own worst critic and most of the vids are all self shot and focused on me directly. Humility is a crippling force at times. But the art must survive! Also, where can I find out more about your band? I'm newer on Hubski and I'm not sure how to check that out. Any links? Thanks!

I had not even considered the width of the bench I have at home until you said this! I think that may actually help. Maybe a bit of thick foam board for some moderate support that doesn't limit range of motion. Hmm. I'll also try out the rotations and get myself some bands. Thanks for the tips 👍🏻

I need some suggestions on weak shoulders...they tend to pop when I lift anything over like 100lbs (50kg I think). Hmm...but I do see your point. I cannot prove a soul is real or tangible and only death will let anyone subjectively know.

Tabula Rasa. We are all born a blank slate and indoctrinated into whatever truth our family may hold, if they hold anything sacred enough to do that with. No one knows the truth that you are addressing here. There are many that claim to know the truth, but that is their belief. Belief and truth are not one and the same. But, in a certain sense one could argue that belief is truth subjectively. So, stand in your own truth and believe what you want to believe. I personally choose to build a door. One was built for me as a child, but I have opened it, walked through, ventured about and come back to the foyer since then. One thing I have found to be true is that we are all hypocrites at some time in our life. This frequently upset me as I passed through my teens and on into my 20s somewhat. But, whether we choose to live in that hypocritical state of being constantly is up to us. Remember that polarization occurs when someone only hears or seeks information that supports their belief. In this situation they ignore negative feed back, which may cause them to pause and reassess how they see the world. This can be a scary process for some. I can't honestly say that I have perfected it in all subjects, but I do try to listen to all sides before forming my opinion. Also, I like to hold on to the philosophy that I reserve the right to change my mind when new and better information presents itself. Welcome to Hubski!!
To add to the topic of mindfulness, it is frequently used in positive psychology. It literally means being mindful of your consciousness. It is a way of looking within and being present in the moment. A way to accept things as they are and life as it will be, without being overcome with the incredible nature of reality. It can be increased through practices, such as meditation and other techniques that help separate emotion and ego from experience.

That reminded me of a time when a friend of mine and I texted in person. We had one requirement: we could not look at the phone while typing. Some really random stuff came out of simple messages. Give it a try some time it's good for a laugh if nothing else!
It's interesting that this software is so jargon-ed that it can simply go by the letter R. Which reminds me of a video I watched of a lecture delivered by a statistician who was discussing how jargon can inhibit the accessibility of knowledge. I'm really back and forth on the afterlife issue. I hope that there is one, because there are so many people (AND PETS!!!) that I'd love to see again. But, I find it hard to wrap my head around, since I don't remember anything before this life. Maybe someone here does? That would be an interesting story. Something similar to...was it Ramantha?...that the lady channeled in 'What the Bleep Do We Know?". I often wonder about spiritual mediums and that sort of thing. I Have had some unexplained experiences, that others explain away as psychosis or something similar. (No aliens or anything like that as far as I know). But, there is some kind of awe inspiring energy out there in this existence and who am I to say what it can do. I'll still most likely be a bit skeptical until I die and find out, hopefully not too soon.
