You could try a google voice account. All you would need is a land line or something from radioshack to give you an IP phone. Those cost about $10 a year.

My mother's Ex was horrible to me. It was a standard custody split. He got every other weekend. During those weekends he would insult my mother, insult me, and constantly yell at me for things I'd done. He was also always coming up with things I should "work on." It made me feel like a problem to be fixed. About a year ago I finally built up the courage to say no, and left him. I haven't talked to him since. Good fucking riddance.

Utilitarian is right. This guy was and is a designer for the fonts we use today. In the Ted talk I linked, he talks about desgning fonts being an engineering thing. It's pretty cool seeing the challenges that lead up to something we take for granted.

In my opinion, Helvetica is the best font for paper. It has energy and ink savings as well as simple characters and legibility. Garamond, however is widely regarded as the most legible font.

I literally could not imagine going home to see that home isn't there. What do you do? I've built a life for myself, started a family, and now it's all gone.

I value my anonymity. That being said, no I am not an officer.

The police are losing track of their mission. The people are the ones we need to protect. They aren't the enemy.

1. I am terribly organized and never lose anything

2. I can sync with almost anyone I meet and anticipate their motives

3. I want to take over Earth and colonize it for my people

Quite frankly in our day and age, you should be proud to read books at all.

Book banning satisfies their need to feel in control of their children's lives.

I was once listening to a pastor talk about watching movies with his kids. He advised parents always pre-screen movies, even G-rated ones, to be sure the children in the movie never disobey or disrespect their parents. He believed that, even if the parents are wrong, if he isolates his children from any negativity towards parents, he will remain in control.

There was a stretch of time of about 2 1/2 months where I would listen to this over and over until I couldn't hear anymore.

    [P]ast findings on...

I am curious as to why that P in particular had to be paraphrased.

I remember all of those things. I was there.

I saw a greentext detailing one of their many raids on 9gag. Alpha team was in charge of shitposting and voting for shitposts to get them to the top. Bravo team was in charge of DDoSing. When 9gag tried to retaliate with the same shit, it failed miserably. Shitposting on /b/ is normally just called posting, and a 4chan user gave all of 9gag instructions to DDoS itsself. In the words of the user himself: ">4channer gave 9gag the wrong coordinates."

Althoug it isn't too extravagant, it serves its purpose. Kind of like humming in your sibling's ear for a while. You aren't doing anything damaging, just annoying them. And 9gag users are EASILY annoyed.

GenghisKhan  ·  3569 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Christian Is As Christian Does

You believe because you love god.

They believe because they fear him.

Religion is a spiritual tie to moral codes and ways of life that brings people together and saves people's souls.

Organized religion is a temporal chain to rules and laws that pull people apart and keep them huddled in groups, feeding whatever entity is in command.

It is the difference between wanting to go to heaven, and desperately evading hell.

GenghisKhan  ·  3569 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Excuse me, is that snake oil gluten free?

Comedian Jimmy Kimmel recently featured a sketch asking health-conscious folks avoiding gluten what gluten actually is. They had no idea.

It should be noted that Jimmy Kimmel Live is a scripted show, and that Jimmy Kimmel's comedy is based around making fun of a group of people. It is possible that they were all told to say they didn't know what gluten is, or that they were screened or chosen beforehand to be sure they were ignorant. Talk show hosts want to make money, too. That can mean making their show the one that "exposes the truth " about the human condition.

GenghisKhan  ·  3569 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Writing is silly

Using the tag #Hubski was not right. I knew this typing it. My only hope was that it would be justified. I want people to see this. If I must sin to do deeds of good, knowingly abusing a label to give the readers quality content they can digest and not glumly click past on their way to the grave, then I will.

GenghisKhan  ·  3570 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: How to Anonymize Everything You Do Online

I'm not too worried about going anonymous. It isn't that I don't believe anyone has the capabilities to exploit me, I'm just not nearly interesting enough to be a prime target.

If I'm correct, most aquifers (near the surface, anyway) are water-rich pumice or other porous rock.

Not really a ban, but I would put the internet into r9k mode. That would mean that no content can be facsimiled. If you don't have anything new to say, you can't say it.

If we could tap this, that would be a possible solution to our water problem. Has anyone ever drilled that far down?

This site amazes me. I've never seen a community this small yet this active.
