What a way to make a first impression. Granted being a part of QAnon does not put one in a good light to begin with. Just leading the rioters to the speaker of the house. She does need to be charged.

It look long enough for this to happen

ArtemusBlank  ·  1196 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Section 230 discussion

How exactly would repealing Section 230 protections apply to Hubski? I can see the big tech companies having to change their entire platforms because of this but who would go after Hubski?

Hubski outlasts another one.

Those comments are quite something.

These days, we could really use more people questioning things.

I will more than likely be voting in person as well since the polling place I am at usually doesn't have a lot of people. Also it helps that New Jersey has taken the pandemic seriously as our numbers have gone drastically down throughout these last couple of months.

ArtemusBlank  ·  1322 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: PSA: We are in the midst of a Hubski experiment.

Okay let's see where this experiment goes.

ArtemusBlank  ·  1322 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: How do you hubski?

Well I log in a couple of times a week. Maybe more or less it depends.

I pretty much use it to see what is being shared. I do find some of the articles shared interesting.

I often visit through my laptop but sometimes I will use my ipad or phone.

No, I don't use email notifications.

I use the clean theme.

I don't really use PMs here. I think I have might have gotten some PMs in the past and sent them out but it's been a while.

I haven't use the chat in the long time. Maybe I should spend there though.

I use my feed and global to browse content.

Yea, there are a good number of us that go wtf whenever he just spouts off on Twitter. When you think he can't get any lower, he just does somehow. It is astounding.

It isn't really about the states that always go blue or the states that always go red. Those states are going their color regardless of the candidates. It's the swing states where Trump beat Clinton only by about 100,000 people where everything will play out. Who knows though what will happen though?

Good luck and get better.

ArtemusBlank  ·  1470 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Bernie Sanders drops out of 2020 race

I think it all depends on how the fight against covid turns out. If the economy flounders and covid takes out a lot of people that may give Biden more of a chance. I mean will people really want a guy that led the economy down the crapper and had a poor response to be a pandemic? Things could have been somewhat better here.

How big of chance though will Biden have? Time will tell. Who knows what the covid situation next week will be like?

That’s just awful. RIP. People can’t play games out here or else you going to cost someone else their life.

ArtemusBlank  ·  1505 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: The Democratic Establishment Has (Finally) United Against Sanders

It appears a lot of Dem voters really want someone that is more middle of the line. They aren’t willing to go in for someone like Bernie. It’s good old Joe to them. Also people came out for Biden a lot more than they did for Hillary in 2016.

ArtemusBlank  ·  1678 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: What Ever Happened to Waterbeds

Looking at some of these comments, waterbeds seem like a bad experience overall. I don't see how these things could have been so popular. I would have probably not enjoyed it at all. The last thing I would want is to wake up all wet during my sleep.

I really think if Bernie was ten years younger, then he would have a stronger chance of getting the nomination. He gets people going and believing in him. However no one really wants a really old president in America. Sure Biden is out there as well not much younger than Bernie but I am not sure people really want him either.

Yang has an interesting idea with the freedom dividend. However I am not sure he will gain enough momentum to be the nominee. I also think if you're in for someone like Sanders or Warren, you aren't going to change your mind for Yang. Warren or Sanders have better shots of getting the nomination, why throw your support towards someone that is barely scratching the surface at the moment.

What kind of questions would ideally be on a short application?

Is there anything in particular you would have to have an idea of to join hubski?

Some people have different interests or ideas than others. Whatever questions are thought of could deter some potential members just because they don't like the questions.

ArtemusBlank  ·  1782 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: PSA: 'Join Hubski' is temporary disabled.

Well since I joined a couple of years ago, I have nothing to worry about unless I lose this account somehow. But right now, I am safe.

I'm not that old but that's someone yammering into a GoPro for a portion of an hour. Youtube is good for long discussions where people constantly talk and just go on. It may look prettier than someone talking on a shitty phone but the main point is that it's still the long yammering.

ArtemusBlank  ·  1868 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: As More Cities Ban Cashless Businesses, New York Wants to Follow

If a person is living cash-only, they probably aren't using Uber or a bike share program to begin with. They are probably taking the bus. The thing about digital currency is that it can still be optional in one's life. You don't have to take an Uber or buy things through paypal. You can still go to a store to buy things or take a bus or a train. What digital currency system would you suggest is absolutely something you can't live without?

ArtemusBlank  ·  1868 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: As More Cities Ban Cashless Businesses, New York Wants to Follow

Where exactly are there businesses that only accept credit? I have lived in Northern New Jersey near New York City my entire life and I have never seen a credit only business even before New Jersey decided to take some action. I have seen cash only businesses and businesses where you need to buy at least a minimum of ten to fifteen dollars worth of stuff before they accepted credit but never a credit only store. Were cashless stores really a trend? Maybe I will see a lot more of this when I go to Sweden in May.

Me and my girlfriend decided this week to take a trip to Stockholm and Berlin in May. We will be spending a week each at both locations. Any recommendations from those that have been there before?
