Trump's "surprise" victory in 2016 makes us forget how extremely poorly he actually did, almost giving a party a third consecutive term in the White House, something that is almost as rare as single-term presidents. Trump is no more popular now than he was in 2016, but this time there are actually serious candidates running for the Democratic nomination.
