Folk Punk, folk punk, folk punk, FOLK PUNK. I've been on such a binge this week on the following artists: The Front Bottoms: Be on the lookout for these guys, they're really talented and have been gaining in popularity over the past year. They're from New Jersey and are seemingly on tour all the time, I would recommend seeing them.
Kind of Like Spitting: This is a beautiful song, and Kind of Like Spitting is one of the folk punk pioneers from the 1990's. Broke up for a while, but have recently reunited. By which I mean the singer/guitarist decided he wanted this to be a band again.
Joie de Vivre: This is the band that sent me on this binge, I discovered them in high school but recently rediscovered them. They get into shoegazing/lo-fi territory, but their acoustic songs are straight up folk-punk. Other than that, I've been listening to The National a lot lately. I've gained a deeper appreciation for them for some reason. I've been listening to primarily to Boxer, so here's a well known song from that record.
