To be brutally honest Star Wars is not a great movie. Compared to what was in the theaters at the time, however, it was amazing. A New Hope was the Second? maybe third? movie I ever saw in a theater. So there is a decent chunk of folks like me that have a nostalgia boner that is removing needed blood from the frontal, thinking, cortex of the brain. Star Wars is King Arthur/Western Hero Narative in space with some added Pulp without the sex and violence that makes some of the old pulp novels worth reading. Go in, turn your brain off and enjoy the film without thinking about it too hard and they are enjoyable.
