My Facebook feed is full of liberal friends arguing that Trump is literally Hitler because he said this one off-hand thing or that off-hand thing. I, on the other hand, have seen no reason to think that Trump thinks Trump is serious about most of the shit that comes out of his mouth. I'm not at all worried about a rogue ideologue grasping the levers of power. I'm worried about an egocentric manchild sitting at the levers of power, and the rogue ideologues telling him which way to pull. However, as I've said a few times, one side has to be nice to him in order to get their way. The other side need only be not so mean that he doesn't have an out. I've heard it argued that ideologically, Trump is a cent Democrat whose leanings are tempered by avarice. Thing about this election is you can't say that he won't get pissed off enough at Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan and decide fuck you, I'm an independent now.
